Weekend Update
Friday
After work on Friday I ran home to pick up Matthew, changed clothes quickly and headed back down south to John Wayne airport to pick-up a surprise guest. Well, actually not that much of a surprise. Originally it was supposed to be a surprise weekend getaway into town for Mikazuko from her b/f, as a gift for finally passing her financial certificate test, and we were going to surprise her there. But she twisted his arm and he spilled the beans, so I didn't get to see her surprised face at the airport. Darn.
Anyways, they were in town for a quick visit to Disneyland and we picked them up at the airport, and drove up to Anaheim for a bit to eat and some catching up. Oh, and not to mention this would be the first time we got to meet B. I was trying to think of a place to eat that would also be fun for Matthew so I picked the ESPNZone at Downtown Disney. Hmm, perhaps not a good idea. The wait was over half an hour (it was already 8:15 by the time we got there) but since we were hungry and already there, we stayed.
Matthew wanted to go upstairs and play games while we waited, so off we went.

Finally at around 9:15 we got seated in the sports grill side of the restaurant. We chose it because it had a shorter wait than the regular restaurant side, but it was so noisy we could hardly carry on a conversation.

But at least we got to see the infamous "Basket Brawl" in Detroit on a super widescreen TV!

It was getting pretty late by the time we finished eating, so we headed on out and then dropped M&B off at their hotel. Even though our time was short, and the location was noisy, it was good to see M again and to meet her new dude.
Saturday
Saturday was a pretty typical day, with Matthew's final soccer game (scored another goal!), and basketball practice. But the best thing was our new dining table arrived! The only problem was that the thing was super-de-duper heavy! I didn't pay the guys the extra money to assemble the table, because I figured how hard could it be to attach the legs on a table? Uhh, bad idea. The table was so heavy I could barely hold it up when it was just standing on it's edge! After lots of ingenuity and sweat, I was finally able to move the table into the dining area, assemble it and flip it up on it's legs (no small feat, and a surprise that I didn't break it!)
Sunday
Matthew's last game of the season was early in the morning, and he had a really good game, scoring at least 5 baskets and just playing well overall.

Great Season, Jazz!

Matthew gets his trophy!

Since this was the last game, the whole team got their trophies!
After the game, the team headed over to Kid Concepts to celebrate another good season (the second time in one week for Matthew to have fun there!)
